Julia
was first "owned" by a Samoyed in 1985 with the arrival of Blitz, a
non-pedigree but pure bred Samoyed bitch. Blitz was full of life and
accompanied the family on most outings. She was a bit big for a Samoyed
bitch and neither of her ears managed to ever stand erect but she did
have many of the endearing Sammy traits. Blitz featured at the
Warrnambool Lawn Tennis Club every week where she would patiently watch
the family play tennis until an uninvited seagull came into sight and
she would bolt across the tennis court. Blitz was tragically taken from
us way too young when hit by a car at the age of 4 after spending a
fun-filled day hunting in rockpools and running on the beach."
